Denis Painchaud

Denis Painchaud is the President and CEO of Baneret Consulting Inc. since 2017. Baneret provides strategic government relations and communications advice to a number of clients across various industries but is primarily focused on the oil and gas industry. Denis also provides business development assistance to a number of companies.

Denis was the Director of International Government Relations for Nexen Energy ULC and later CNOOC Nexen from 2005 – 2016. Denis held positions in a number of senior roles including Vice-President, Communications and Government Affairs with Aquila Networks Canada. In addition to his private sector experience, Denis served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Economic Development for the Government of Saskatchewan, was a sessional lecturer in the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Calgary, and practiced law in Calgary. Denis was a member of the Calgary Police Commission from 2005-09, serving as chair from 2008-09.

Currently, he serves as a director in various other industry organizations as well as on boards for organizations in politics, community services, the arts, and the local community. Denis attended the University of Saskatchewan, earning a Bachelor of Commerce in 1983 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1988.
